Energy Vampires in Intuitive Coaching

Intuitive coaching should not be utilized to hide from a mental health diagnosis. This is becoming a trend among those that consider themselves more spiritually inclined, and it has damaging results to those offering intuitive services. While many consider the word intuitive ill-defined term related to many secular and nonspiritual things, intuitive in this sense is spiritual and, for me, also empathic.

While the stigma of getting mental health treatment seems to be dwindling, the decades in which it has been shameful prevents many from seeking the help they need, and in doing so, they continue to self-harm and harm others in the process of denial.

I have encountered a lot of people that are firing their therapists and swapping it out for intuitive coaching and guidance - this is a thing. Most often, I hear that because of their spiritual beliefs or perhaps sensitive nature, they don’t feel seen in traditional therapy settings. Overall, the perceived lack of empathy in therapy doesn’t help promote the self-care narrative nor help remove the stigma. If you believe the therapy setting to be a cold one, then it will be easy to retreat when you didn’t want to be there in the first place.

I have always said that empathic guidance is not a replacement for mental health care. But, those determined to shield themselves from being called mentally unstable are incredibly manipulative. The manipulation in the energetic sense is because all of their energy is forced in and not free-flowing. Everything in their world is about their victimhood within their mental health conditions and the circumstances that gave way for those conditions to manifest.

Emotional abusers are dangerous, especially to those with spiritual gifts. Their presence drains you upon their energetic arrival. To respect your energetic boundaries, you have to understand who they are and why they threaten your mental health.

Here’s what I have discovered in working with those affected by trauma through intuitive coaching

Clients with the most severe trauma are emotionally abusive, no matter how varied the symptoms or other underlying mental health conditions. This emotional abuse manifests as passive-aggressive behavior, constant criticizing, overly dismissive to the spiritual messages, and extremely unpredictability. Not to mention, they are often patronizing and often use sarcasm in regular communication. For an intuitive coach, the experience presents challenging sessions where it feels more like an argument or a battle than coaching someone through their circumstances, frequent last-minute cancellations, no shows, and many attacks concerning your coaching style. To add more friction to the situation, these clients often try to invalidate the spiritual messages. In these scenarios, the client must be right, and you are the one in the wrong.

As an empath, it is energetically damaging. Allowing this behavior to continue only creates more opportunities for it to occur. I have learned through my spiritual journey and as a guide to others that those with severe trauma can only have the possibility to be healed through the more traditional route of mental health care. Our spirit guides both in reality and in spirit should not be utilized as emotional punching bags. Empaths often seek to help those that are in the most pain and are the underdog. Not to mention those souls that no one else is willing to help. But empaths, intuitive coaches, and highly sensitive people can only be helpful if they have healthy boundaries and a lot of positive light for themselves. Unfortunately, the clients and people that are most difficult are those that suck all of the light out of the room; these are the energy vampires.

The Role of the Energy Vampire

Emotional abusers who are the more obvious energy vampires are usually people suffering from severe trauma that remain trapped in a state of victimhood.

Emotional abusers are coachless by their design. Empaths and intuitive coaches need to accept this and move forward with clients and others that are genuinely on the path to spiritual enlightenment. As a practitioner that works in the Akashic Records, I understand on a soul level that we must allow our healing to take place for the light to penetrate us.

The three guiding principles of the Akashic Records are: “judge not, fear not, and resist not.” Emotional abusers cannot comply with these principles, and this should be a warning sign that intuitive guidance will be complicated through any modality. Healing is an active practice that requires openness to facing your emotional and physical aspect and a willingness to move beyond your pain. In healing ourselves, we must be open to new possibilities.

Contrarily, the role of the energy vampire is to perpetuate and inflict pain onto others.

With this in mind, you can quickly see how those deeply rooted in trauma will create an environment where the intuitive is not only drawn into their mental anguish but prevented from nurturing real and lasting change. The tendency to drag down whomever the energy vampire is supposedly seeking assistance from in the coaching setting.

There’s no easy way to say this, but I find that energy vampires are not just lost in their turmoil of trauma and unstable mental health, but they are quite lazy when it comes to doing the soul work. Let me explain. First, when you struggle with an inconsistent mental landscape, you don’t have the energy to reflect, process, journal, exercise, or absorb spiritual messages. This mental impediment is the primary reason a clear and stable mind must be present to explore spirituality on a deeper level. Anxiety is a form of resistance, if nothing else, resisting who you are and rejecting the reality surrounding you. All lower vibrational energies are exhausting. Consider the last time you were overthinking, seeking approval, or downright fearful with racing thoughts, if ever? That type of vibration depletes you and quickly.

I want to share more on Energy Vampires and the devastation that they wreak on the intuitive they work with and the people who spin in their orbit. I honestly believe this is the kind of information I wish I would not have overlooked while trying to remain open and deeply compassionate towards others. I hope it brings you more clarity.
