3 Ways to Know if you are Ready for Intuitive Coaching

Intuitive coaching is indeed a unique experience for all. No two intuitive sessions are alike. People come to coaching for many different reasons at different times in their lives. The biggest misconception about intuitive coaching is that there needs to be a significant problem present to initiate self-discovery, and it doesn't. The soul's journey is to seek and understand more about the soul's nature through the experience of humanity. Our very existence is enough of a draw to the unseen so that we may realize more about who we are in and out of time. Though the practical mind needs more, a few reasons connect to understanding circumstances in which intuitive coaching could be helpful.

  1. You're feeling stuck and don't know how to get unstuck.

There are so many reasons that contribute to feeling like you are not moving along your intended pathway in life, and often finding the root cause unlocks the stuck energy so that you can carry on with ease. Our "stuckness" is that when we feel stuck personally and don't necessarily identify the problem as being stuck with a specific energy which is a pretty important aspect of getting clear; understanding the energy that flows within you. When you feel stuck, it's not easy to identify anything clearly, which creates an excellent opportunity to receive guidance through coaching if you are truly ready for change. Sometimes we believe that we are prepared for change, but sometimes through the coaching process, particularly intuitive coaching, we discover things about ourselves that make us uncomfortable. And, instead of accepting the negative aspects with a willingness to understand in preparation for change, we run and fall victim to our negative patterns.

How do we learn to accept our most negative aspects?

In intuitive coaching, the answer is obvious, and that is with trust and faith that you can evolve beyond it. One easy way is to use journaling as a form of spiritual practice to disrupt the self-judgment and ask yourself the following when directed at your current circumstances:

  • Can you be better than your worst aspect?

  • Can you examine the possibilities and gain an understanding?

  • Can you allow yourself the opportunity to try again? If so, what can you do differently?

Now you may hear the questions mentioned and instinctively want to skip over them. Or you may write half-truths in response; however, you must answer them. The questions offer a point to shift and a way to open ourselves up to more profound truths, which leads to clarity. Following through with the answer helps you to vibrate higher than your actions. Finally, you must allow the answers to reveal a final resolution for you. For many, this is the hard part.

We often rely heavily on our patterns of overthinking, especially when we feel stuck. We languish in anxiety and insecurity that does not allow room for finality in our circumstances. We must learn to accept finality in ourselves, our circumstances, and others. Then, we can achieve a state of lightness, which allows us to grow further and expand. This potential for levity makes intuitive coaching a great option when you are ready for growth because it will enable us to view our circumstances not just through an objective party but through the lens of our spiritual nature through our spirit guides.

2.  You spend time questioning if you're doing the 'right thing' in your business.

Business, particularly entrepreneurship, is an experience where you will never have enough emotional support. It seems that along with the normalization of social media for our daily news updates and new age spirituality as the cultural replacement for organized religion, we have also taken on imposter syndrome to give clout to our anxiety. Imposter syndrome is a form of survival mode.  Have you asked yourself lately if what you bring to the world even matters? That's imposter syndrome. Nowadays, we have entrepreneurs with imposter syndrome. Still, we also have just plain old imposters that do just enough to get all the followers and generate enough money to stay afloat, all while playing on the conscience of those skilled in their business but haven't found a direct pathway to success.

The difference is that those with imposter syndrome genuinely don't know where to start addressing their core issue and don't know a method is available to unpack the pattern. Still, real imposters are a bit too arrogant and lazy to do anything about their lack because they invest energy in preventing FOMO and are very intentional about dominating the spotlight.

What you need to know and the first step in clarity here is understanding your relationship with the imposter syndrome, which is an interesting pattern to work through in intuitive coaching.

Is it that you feel like an imposter some days because you wonder if you will be judged based on who you are and your work?

Or are you posing because you choose to stick to the narrative people believe about you even though you are fully aware you could never live up to who people consider you to be?

Which imposter are you?

The unintentional imposter (most of us) fear being judged based on who they are and how others will receive their work. They are likely struggling with their inner landscape, mainly guilt, anxiety, seeking approval, and simply lacking confidence. Most are isolated, and the least supported because to ask for help is to confess all the things they have been unintentionally deceptive about and for a long time.

But when we are not honest with what's going on and keep trying to stay strong, we lead ourselves into the lap of perfectionism. I have never cared much for perfectionism. It has always seemed like an apparent and avoidable roadblock. We cannot be perfect, and the attempt is enough to fall into pure insanity. Once upon a time, I worked closely with a perfectionist, and I came to understand it as a constant state of projection. All of the insecurities she had within herself were pushed onto me daily. It blocks any sense of clarity. It doesn't even allow you to dream. It is the state of trying to stuff yourself into your high school jeans when you know you have had college graduation, possibly grad school, marriage, and two babies. Like if you can get into those jeans, I commend you, but most of us can't. And the things we do to force our bodies backward are not only unhealthy but somewhat crazy. Perfectionism won't lead you to soul purpose or happiness. Perfectionism is the path of resistance. When I arrived at this thought when working with my old co-worker, I felt liberated. I learned in dealing with the pro-perfectionist that to be perfect meant to reject everything you deem imperfect. The world must revolve around you and your ego 24 hours a day in perfectionism. That is exhausting and unnecessary because to be on this Earth and created by the highest being, and we know we cannot attain perfection. If we are to do so by grace, we cannot grant ourselves that status; Spirit must.

Try as you might, these types of energetic patterns are difficult to self-diagnose and understand the true impact of the behavior on yourself and others.

3.  You're ready to learn more about inherited generational patterns.

Why is the generational pattern of mindset overlooked? I know that we are focusing on it more with our desires to create generational wealth and by setting a single boundary and proclaiming that we are breaking generational curses, but is that enough? I am forced to answer this question with what has been presented to me when I consider the awareness I have concerning my inherited generational patterns. The mindset of any lineage is the strongest of your soul's inheritance. Even when you are the psychedelic sheep of the family, the philosophy of your genealogy is present. DNA from both parents is irrevocably embedded at the cellular level. That is why an entire family's hold on one religion over another religion is a reality. Or, why does your family cook recipes the same way? It's more than a tradition; it is a way of thinking, of being, a generational loyalty.

The generational mindset is mainly overlooked because of the misconception about free will. While the intention is for each soul to decide, the choice is also easily influenced. And traditions overshadow the concept of mindset. However, if your lineage makes fear-based decisions, to some degree that mentality has been passed soulfully, the same as if your family is full of risk-takers, then that mindset will be more dominant.

I read Undivided several years ago about a black Christian mother and a Muslim daughter trying to understand each other despite their religious differences. The thing that stayed with me the most regarding generational themes in the book was that the mother asked the daughter why Christianity was good enough for all the generations before them but not good enough for her?

As I am thinking of this book now, it's almost eerie that the mother was so unwilling to accept change because acceptance would have meant that every other person in their family was wrong...perhaps they were.

People often come to intuitive coaching to learn more about their ancestors, especially in the wake of the ancestry testing now available. It's opened a whole new door to history for African Americans specifically. But, when they ask me about ancestors, the question is always the same, "what tribe and country and I from?"

No one has ever asked about the mindset, purpose, or values of their lineage. As with all things in this world today, we are consumed with what is tangible. But, our ancestors of all ethnicities hold knowledge, and that knowledge influenced their mindset, their being, and that is of supreme value. And well worth discovery.

What issues can you identify as generational patterns in your lineage that create a current roadblock for you?

Many people can't get clear in their lives because they are afraid of who they will become! So it's the constant struggle of who you are and who you have been all these years carrying the pain of this issue or that issue.

Sometimes we get caught up in believing the strength we have acquired by enduring issue after issue is what defines us. But it's not. The soul is not easily defined because it is ever-changing, constantly learning and growing with each lesson. So there could not be a single instance or a single circumstance to serve as a defining moment for your soul. This perspective makes emotional clarity all the more important because the soul needs the slate to be wiped clean after each experience to receive the next lesson openly without judgment, fear, or resistance.    You may not realize the need for guidance or support in your life, but feeling constantly uncertain or like you aren’t getting anywhere in professional pursuits are good places to start in creating a connection to spirituality and understanding your soul patterns.
