How to Know If You’re at a Spiritual Awakening or Just at a Crossroads
It’s not unpopular that people generally take psychics and intuitive guides for granted. I noticed early on that people’s perception of me was that I was uneducated or poor. It is when desperation in their life sets in that intuitive guidance becomes the only stone left unturned—and it’s urgent. I often hear, “I feel lost and don’t know where to focus,” or “I am at a crossroads and really need to connect.”
But truly, I don’t want to meet anyone in desperation or at a crossroads. I want to meet them in their awakening. And those are two distinct moments in time that carry different energy. It speaks to the spiritual awareness of the client, but also their relationship with Spirit.
What I have witnessed in working with clients over the years is that those who feel they are lost or at a crossroads have not fully connected with the concept of faith. And what happens is I become a surrogate mother instead of a guide. In this interaction, there is never a pathway to belief, but a constant sense of desperation and ultimately dependency.
My actual goal is to help those, especially empaths, who are going through a spiritual awakening, because that’s where intuitive guidance can truly support the process. I want to help them navigate their spiritual gifts—but more importantly, so they can become spiritually independent. The person at the crossroads never learns to listen, never learns the necessity of faith, and never connects with self-presence, which leaves them on the outside of what spiritual connection could become for them.
The Emotional and Spiritual Weight of Being at a Crossroads
When we are at a crossroads, we often feel like we’re trapped between two options, unsure of where to go next. It’s a moment of intense emotional discomfort, often accompanied by confusion and fear. The crossroads are moments of great opportunity for growth, but also times when people search for a quick solution to ease their pain. They seek guidance with urgency, but that urgency often stems from fear and a lack of trust in themselves and their path.
In contrast, those who are in the midst of a spiritual awakening are not necessarily free from discomfort. However, their approach to the discomfort is different. They are open, curious, and willing to explore the depths of what they are experiencing. Spiritual awakening often comes with a deep knowing that there is something bigger at play. It's an invitation to lean into the discomfort, sit with the unknown, and trust that answers will come, not in a rush, but in divine timing.
Shifting from a Crossroads to Awakening
If you find yourself at a crossroads, it’s important to first acknowledge where you are, without judgment. You can’t begin to shift until you recognize that the feelings of being lost or stuck are temporary. The next step is to release the need for immediate answers and open yourself up to faith. Trust that the path will reveal itself when the time is right. You don’t need to have everything figured out right now.
One way to begin this process is through spiritual practices that cultivate awareness and presence. Meditation, journaling, or simply spending time in nature can help clear the mental fog that often accompanies crossroads moments. This isn’t about fixing things instantly, it’s about creating space to connect with your inner knowing and strengthening your trust in Spirit.
We all experience the feeling of spiritual awakening at different points in our spiritual journey. It is not a single moment or distinguished time in your life. If you keep living, you will experience another level of spiritual awakening, deeper and more profound than the first. What’s important is that you answer the call with spiritual connection and intention and not just guess at what is necessary or look to be validated for what you think is happening.
We all need guides. That is why we have parents, community, and others who help us to develop. Though if you are truly seeking certainty, or a practical pathway to connect to the Source that sustains us all simultaneously, you will be looking for a lifetime unfulfilled.
Spiritual connection doesn’t come through control. It comes through trust, presence, and the willingness to surrender to something bigger than yourself.
